The pandemic has taught us the uncertainties of life and why things should not be taken for granted. We had a series of lockdowns disrupting life and throwing everything off gear. Like every other, Meera and Ram started putting their hands in the mud during the lockdown as a hobby to grow fruits and vegetables in pots and the available area surrounding the home. It was given A. some homegrown fresh leafy vegetables, and fruits for their consumption B. enjoyed sharing the home-grown vegies (very little) with friends and family and C. they also felt some stresses were reduced.

In the olden days, people were growing vegetables in their backyards, and front areas etc., During your childhood days, do you remember the taste of the drumstick that was cooked by your mother which was grown in front of your home. Why not grow some of the required lettuce and veggies on our terrace, balcony and pots as a krishis hobby #MyHobbyIsKrishis. Dr M S R Raju is specialized in plant nutrition, an expert in detecting pests & diseases and diagnosis of plant nutrition deficiencies. Dr Raju holds a doctorate in Biochemical Engineering from IIT, BHU, Varanasi, UP, India. Past three decades, he is into the research and development of various environmentally friendly formulations and manufacturing speciality plant nutrition products for stage-wise crop lifecycle and also for large-scale agriculture segments under the umbrella of Sree Shaktivel Crop Technology, Hyderabad, India. Since 2020, he is a consultant for the Tomato project of TOCA Farm Benin, West Africa. Currently, he is promoting National Program Khethi Sudhar and Nutritionally Balanced Farming (NBF). Sree Shaktivel Crop Technology is the formulation and manufacturing agency for the products of Krishis Hitech Private Limited.
